The Bridge Monthly Message
November 2009
There are times when Christians need to go back to their roots. Back to those basic fundamental truths that form our foundation. We all need something solid and sure to build on and that is the word of God.
Hab 2: 4 The just shall live by faith.
Hebrews 11:6 Without faith it impossible to please God; for those who come to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Faith should be a way of life to a believer. That is how we should live and not by our sensory mechanisms, the five senses. Thank God for them but when it comes to receiving from God it takes faith to appropriate His promises.
There are however people who say they are acting in faith and meanwhile they are acting in foolishness.
Foolishness is being deficient in understanding, without judgement or discretion, silly, unwise and irrational. Faith is not throwing common sense and godly wisdom to the winds.
Faith is acting on what you believe, so you need to make sure that what you believe is correct. Faith then needs to be based on understanding and applying God’s word in your life.
You have to know whether your actions are of faith or foolishness.
Lets look at healing. 1 Peter 2:24 says that by the stripes of Jesus you were healed.
So we see here then that healing was provided for us at the cross and we can stand on God’s word concerning our health and well being.
The first thing you should do if you are sick is get scriptures on healing (There are loads in the bible) and pray the prayer of faith for your healing, thank God for it and declare that by Jesus stripes you are healed.
You can’t deny sickness and you should get checked out by a doctor and do what you can to get healed. It could be the reason you are sick is bad lifestyle choices. Then you need to make the necessary adjustments and ask God for strength and healing to work in your body.
It is not a lack of faith to go to a doctor, take medication or have surgery.
It is foolishness not to have a lump treated if you find one. Dont let fear keep you from getting healed.
However, you can’t walk in faith and be led by your feelings.
Well, I don’t feel healed so I suppose God doesn’t want to heal me.
That’s nonsense. Jesus already paid the price for your healing and you need to walk that out.
2 Cor 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen (perceived by the senses) but at the things which are unseen (not perceived by the senses) For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are unseen are eternal.
Faith is saying what God says about you and lining your actions up with His word.
We have a CD set called Faith, Foolishness & Presumption, where we cover the subject of healing, finance, debt, family & home, insurance, taxes, tithes, overeating and singles.
When you begin to understand how faith works and how to walk in God’s word wisely, you will enter a new dimension in your life which will take you up to another level.
Pastor Bernie was with Dr Cho in Korea last month and was privileged to attend a huge prayer meeting held in the Olympic Stadium in Seoul which was attended by over 100,000 people. He also attended the Church Growth International Board meeting. What an inspiration in faith for us all. We pray as always that God will connect us with the right churches and people so that we can continue to grow and flourish and be profitable for God’s Kingdom.
We have our annual Snowball coming up on the 29th of November. This will be held in th Seamill Hydro Hotel and as always we have night full of wonderful entertainment, great food, awards and a ceilidh to end. You can get the details from the web.
God bless you and may you walk in the victory wherein Christ has set you free
